Biografi :
Mariah Carey yang lahir di Huntington, Long Island, New York pada 27 Maret 1970, populer lewat debut album Mariah Carey yang diluncurkan pada 1990. Bintang yang mulai membuat musik demo yang dikirimkan kepada para produser hingga harus sering bolos sekolah itu, pernah memenangkan Grammy Awards untuk kategori Best New Artist dan Best Female Pop Vocal Performance lewat debut singlenya, Vision of Love. Mantan istri eksekutif rekaman Columbia Records, Tommy Mottola yang banyak membimbing selama karirnya itu, juga sukses menelorkan album rohani, Merry Christmas diantara lagu di dalamnya All I Want for Christmas Is You. Selain itu, penyanyi yang pernah menjalin hubungan dengan musisi asal Puerto Rico, Luis Miguel dan Derek Jeter itu, juga mengguluti pangung layar lebar, di antaranya film yang pernah dibintanginya, THE BACHELOR (1999), GLITTER (2001), WISEGIRLS (2002) dan STATE PROPERTY 2 (2005).Setelah sempat terpuruk pada album GLITTER, pada April 2005 Carey meluncurkan album THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI. Dengan menjagokan single We Belong Together, album ini berhasil mendapatkan 8 nominasi pada ajang Grammy Awards 2006. Itu adalah rekor nominasi yang diperoleh Carey dalam Grammy pada satu waktu. 15 April 2008, Carey kembali merilis album teranyarnya, E=MC². Di album kesebelas ini, ia menjagokan single Bye Bye, I'll Be Lovin' U Loving Time dan I Stay in Love. Di saat pembukaan penjualan album ini bahkan berhasil terjual 463 ribu copy dan ini menjadi minggu pertama penjualan terbesar sepanjang karirnya sebagai musisi.
